I just stumbled into this substack and reading this post seems quite timely! I have had my ups and downs with relating between my identities - my internal identity, my real external identities, and the myriad of disguise external identities. The reason the 3rd kind exists for me is because it is my coping mechanism to deal with this world and its set of expectations and differing levels of understanding and resonance on a individual human level. There exists quite a lot of different kinds of friction between the 3 types of identities; and it came down to a moment when I did not feel particularly valuable to this world; when I had to explain something personal to a acquaintance that I am collaborating with. What you described is very similar to the little internal dialog I had been having with myself for a long time. I love how you structure your posts here - especially with the prompts for dialog and journaling at the end of your post easily prompting for dialog and encouraging your readers to write - perhaps here on Substack, perhaps elsewhere! Thank you for these things.
